My inclination was to vote for Richards for his fantastic guitar playing, all that wonderful Chuck Berry double stop stuff he did early doors for starters. Also his reliability and dedication to the Rolling Stones was so important. Of course I can't overlook his song writing input which had a massive bearing on the Stones success, and of course the riffs not least Satisfaction, the song with the most recognisable riff ever, the one which elevated the band onto a different plane.....but then there's Jones, determined to get a band together that would play the music he loved, and as it developed, the variety and colour his musicianship brought to the sounds the Stones were creating.....I can't really visualise a Stones without Richards. I know what a Stones without Jones looks and sounds like. However for the period we're voting on, I can't imagine a Stones without either of them.....I call it even.
