OK, it seems I posted some mistaken info last night. My apologies to all concerned. Here is why I posted that info. I have a close friend who is also a close friend of Malcolm Young's. Prior to Malcolm's illness, they used to visit each other quite frequently. Anyway, my friend (Jim) is not "tech-savvy" (he doesn't even have email), so I had to call him this morning, leave a message, and then await his return call. Well, I just got off the phone with Jim, and he set me straight on the whole thing (and this is all according to what Malcolm told him).....there was no tour bus and no members of the band were there that night. Bon had been drinking in a London bar with some friends. There were many people in the bar that night who have stated that Bon was not that drunk (but, based upon MY meetings with Bon, he was a VERY heavy drinker who could drink GALLONS and not appear to be drunk). Well, one of Bon's "friends" drove him to his apartment (the friend's apartment, not Bon's) and, when they arrived there, this "friend" left Bon in the car to sleep it off. The next day, Bon was discovered dead in the car. The coroner ruled "alcohol poisoning" but Malcolm told Jim that he spoke with that very same coroner and he also said it "could" have been hypothermia. Now Malcolm, after personally witnessing MANY instances of Bon's drinking, firmly believed that no amount of alcohol could kill Bon, so he told Jim it HAD to be the hypothermia that killed him. I don't know where I heard about a tour bus and the members of the band, but I shouldn't have posted about it without knowing the "real" story (although I did some researching today and have found many false "real" stories...including the choking on his own vomit story). I also regret posting that it was hypothermia that killed Bon, but I did that based upon what Malcolm had told Jim at the time. Malcolm "believes" it was hypothermia, but he doesn't "know" it for a fact. Malcolm heard two stories from the same coroner and came to his own conclusion. I made the mistake of posting Malcolm's "beliefs" as fact. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
