I agree Keno, but think there has to be something more going on.
There's no doubt that the U.S.A has more of it's citizens armed than any other western democracy, but there are other countries where a high percentage of the population are armed, and while similar outrages occur from time to time, they don't appear to happen with anything like the same frequency.
I heard something recently that shocked me, or at least had me going 'wtf'!?. Apparently so far this year, and it's still only August, the police in the United States have killed over 700 people..... over 700 ffs! If you start to think about the general murder rate, and the fact (I believe) that the U.S. as a percentage of the population locks up more of it's citizens than any other country, then you could be forgiven for thinking that Americans seriously don't like one another. That's before you start to think about the hunting brigade, out in the woods shooting anything that moves. Maybe Americans just don't like any living thing.
O.K. I know that's not the case, but every time an atrocity such as the one being talked about in this thread happens, I struggle to understand what is going on over there.
