I was up in the John Muir woods in 1991 such a place of wonder, hate to think of it being contaminated by these despoilers roaming around like the reptiles they are. I doubt if John Muir was ever given an invite to the party, but I would think his compatriot, fellow Scot, Andrew Carnegie was on the guest list.
I would love to see a third party being built in the U.S., a Socialist Party. I would love to see it happen here as well. Labour the party founded on socialist principles, has long since abandoned them. That said, in the current Labour leadership contest the left wing candidate is the front runner, standing on a platform of re nationalisation of the energy companies, railway etc...the natural monopolies. So maybe it's the start of something. Of course socialism no matter how much it's needed, won't be delivered via bourgeoisie democracy, there is no Parliamentary road to socialism.
