...has a track called "Gomper", which I took my handle from here, but did not know what it meant at the time. I thin it basically means a person of very limited intellectual ability.
Well, that's a new one I never heard before, who told you that? LOL! I mean, really LOL!
When I was researching my Stones book, this song's title had me, like most fans, wondering what the heck it meant. The main thing I would hear from other fans was it was about black magic. So for my book's Q&A chapter, I knew I had to get this question answered correctly, and my 2 biggest insiders who I used both told me the same thing, that it had to do with eastern religions and happy events, etc, but they didn't know for sure it's exact meaning, but both felt it was a Zen or Hindu thing.
So living in a town where eastern religions are the main religions, especially Buddhism and Hinduism, I decided to talk to some of the eastern religious leaders to find out if they could help me answer this question, as I know most of them well enough. I found out that the title's origin came from the Tibetan Buddhist word for "temple" or more so, what is called a prayer hall ("gompa" is the actual word), and a gomper is a ritual performed to bring peace and happiness to people.
So you Mr Gomper, have one of the coolest handles at the board as far as I'm concerned, and your handle doesn't by any means mean a person of very limited intellectual ability!
