Most every Stones album vs Stones album poll features two albums I like a lot. I can't imagine exceptions to this as there's no Stones album that I can categorically say I don't like. TSMR has some lovely moments and at least one legendary track - 2000 Light years From Home. In fact, it even has a track called "Gomper", which I took my handle from here, but did not know what it meant at the time. I thin it basically means a person of very limited intellectual ability.
All this aside, Steel Wheels is the winner. Its a very important work in Stones history and just has so many awesome and memorable tracks. Its really works programatically and cohesively as an album. Its the album that REALLY got me into the STones in a major way.
These are, of course, two very, very dissimilar albums. But Steel Wheels is the superior work in my book.
