RE: RE: RE: Who's play slide on Jig-Saw Puzzle?

If we can take the recollections of people like Jimmy Miller as being accurate, then a lot of the time during the recording of BB, Jones was not in any great shape( like your euphemism 'cold' QotU lol). Listening to the out takes of JP, there is an argument for it being an under the weather Jones trying to come up with something for the song that was a bit removed from his usual style and sound. There is room also for TM's thought that both Jones and Richards had a go at it. I'm totally open to those arguments even if I think the out takes are more likely to be Richards trying to get to grips with something that was not his forte.

I'm led to believe that the original BB (I only have the original vinyl) was recorded wrong, speed wise. I don't know if anybody agrees, but to my ears on JP the slide playing in places sounds out of tune, possibly this has something to do with the recording process, and not the tuning of whoever was playing? Being recorded at the wrong speed doesn't help when you try to determine what tuning the slide guitarist used. The tuning chosen could add a further clue as to the identity of the player. Anybody got any thoughts?
