Gifford was praised by Al Michaels earlier today on ESPN radio. He noted that Gifford was always calm and cool no matter what was going on around him. (Which is the way I remember the guy. The word "serene" even comes to mind.) He also stated something which is an incredible compliment about the guy- that with Gifford being such a fine ambassador during his playing days and for so many years on Monday Night Football, that no other single person had done so much for the NFL.
