Arguably, stylistic similarities in music or any other art form or endeavor can be deciphered by some and not by others. Not to say these observations are always correct. To my ears, the one playing slide on "Salt of the Earth" and "Jigsaw Puzzle" is one and the same musician, and not the one heard on "No Expectation", which displays more fluidity, if not technical ability. I still like the other two performances however. Sometimes technical limitations can define a particular style as being unique, as opposed to imitation or being able to play someone else's virtuoso solo note-for-note.
