Stones Poll: These 2 albums represent for me, 2 of the 3 most overrated Stones albums (and you all know my third pick). Still I like both of them, but I'll go with TY by just a bit.
Rock Poll: I tried to get into the Dead but never could. But I was married to a Dead Head for a few years (my second wife) and she would always claim that Brent Mydland was the most overrated one in the group, so I'll go with him, although as I type this out, I also recall that she felt that Pigpen was underrated as a singer and was much better than many realized, too. Gosh, I also heard from many that Bob Weir was a terrible guitar player in the early days of the band and Jerry would have to cover for him. I knew a guy back when I lived in Manitou Sps, who went to school with Bob back when he lived in the Pike's Peak area as a young teen,and he claimed the same thing. But that must have been when he first learned to play, and who's good at playing anything when the are only 15 and just learning?
VS poll: It's a close call, but Leon Russell's cover is better to me thanks to that special singing voice he has. I recall about 7 years ago when he headlined our music fest here in town, how excellent his singing still was, and somebody here claimed that he could not stand how he sang. I could not disagree more, I just love how he stretches out the words to songs!
