RE: RE: Here is the better link to that.....

I certainly respect everyones opinions and views here but I've read that interview a dozen times and I really don't see why Keith is being villified here. I understand that he said Stu formed the band and everyone gravitated towards him and neglected to mention Brian's part in the formation of the band. I see how that could irk people. I am a HUGE Brian fan and it irritates me that Keith, in the past, lied and trash talked Brian. As I mentioned...we don't know how much of that interview was edited. Word for word, he never trashed Brian here.

The Bill thing... he sort of said Mick was bothered by it. He went on to say he loved Bill and alluded to the fact that they wish he hadn't left the band. No one in this thread even mentioned that.

I agree with Pluto about the whole Dartford thing. Mick and Keith were from there, not anyone else from the band. I guess they were trying to do a nice thing by recognizing MJ and KR, hometown hero sort of thing. Granted, it wasn't worded properly, we all agree on that. I wonder if the person or panel that thought to do the plaque even knows who Brian Jones is! They could be a bunch of young 'uns that aren't the die hards that we are and are just trying to do something nice. "Disgusting" is a harsh word, IMO. Maybe they just don't know the facts as we know them. Uninformed may be a better word? I don't think the plaque is a malicious thing. Bill could also be spewing because he has had enough of putting up with the Glimmers. He wanted to leave behind Mick Taylor in '74 because he was "disgusted". I don't blame him, mind you. He is also recently pissed at them for disrespecting him on the 50 Year Anniversary Tour because they misled him into believing he would play on more than 2 songs. I guess he is able to voice his displeasure NOW because he's not in the band anymore. In '74 he may have been shown the door.

As far as SPLHCB, the interviewer lead him into that statement by talking about the Stones and Beatles albums from that '67 to '72 era. He was just being honest about the way he felt about the music from that time. One man's trash is another mans treasure!
