No problem, I do that often myself! But, even if you meant “moot”, I still totally disagree!
I would argue however that the band were not formed at that point, not fully, because if they were they wouldn't be holding auditions for a bass player, or if I remember correctly, a drummer also. From my point of view the band was only fully formed when all of whom I would class as original members were in place. Up until that point it was a band being put together.
I disagree. The band was set and already started. It’s kind of like when you start a business, you hire the first set of employees and the business is born, or “formed”, but in time you got to replace some of them, and this was what happened to the Stones.
Jagger, Richards and Stewart were every bit as involved and important in the founding of the Rolling Stones as Jones
No they weren’t, not at all at that point. It was Brian who set up all of the gigs, he was the one who wrote all of the newspapers, and who hired their manager and producer. It was his ground work only up to that point. Those other 3 didn’t do any of that!
So for me, the Rolling Stones were only formed when Jones, Richards, Wyman, Jagger and Watts were in place, they are the founding members along with Stewart.
You can say that and believe that, fine, but in reality, that doesn’t make it true, and in fact, it isn’t true at all!
Stewart's position is again debatable in a number of ways, as are Richard's latest utterances.
It’s debatable only now because of this lie stated by Keith.
Almost every aspect of Jones' time with the Stones and beyond is moot, even the circumstances of his death.
Are you joking here? I never know with you. His death is moot, yes, no question, but many other things he did in the band isn’t at all. I got a feeling if Keith said tomorrow that Brian didn’t play the sitar on PIB, or the recorder on RT, and that it was he who was the one playing them, you would believe him and make an argument for his claim.
