I think you just see things the way you want. What possible grounds do you have to state that Keith and Mick aren't friends anymore. If so, then why would they tour together? You know absolutely nothing about their personal relationship, because you're not close enough to them to know. Ask Patty how Keith feels about Mick or Mick feels about Keith.
Keith has always said whatever came to mind to the press. Whatever amuses him. Mick does it, too. Why wouldn't they? They get asked the same questions all day, every day. They may as well say something that gets them on Page 1 instead of page 6. It's not their job to care if Brian's legacy is preserved like he was some kind of deity. It's Brian's family's job to do that, and if they aren't interested, then maybe they know there really was a lot less there than you think there is.
The books you read aren't by people that knew Brian. Hell, half of them are rehashes of Mandy Aftel's book with far more salacious writing and editorial license. The ones with "new" evidence all seem extremely unreliable to me. Take them with a grain of salt, not as gospel truth.
The 69 tour had tons of new music that hadn't been played in front of an audience and they had Mick Taylor learning new songs. Mick probably already knew the Chuck Berry standards. Would you have preferred Under My Thumb to have marimbas to be drowned out with a PA from the period?
You're the one that sounds like he has some kind of axe to grind with Keith. If that's not your intent, then YOU are the one that needs to state it more clearly. Otherwise, own it and don't try to act like you're giving an unbiased opinion.
