It also proves that, beyond some nice guitar licks, he really played little part in the progressive records the Stones did in 1966-67. I think a lot of Aftermath, Between The Buttons, and Their Satanic Majesties were more Brian and Mick, than Keith and Mick. The last record that has that progressive sound to me is Child Of The Moon. There is a big reason those records were ignored when they went back on the road in 1969, they couldn't do them without Brian.
Say what? Have you listened to the band he's in? Keith is fully involved in the albums you mention, and his contributions are often the best part of a kind of shaky period. Not just for The Stones, but Rock music in general. I mean, if Satanic Majesties isn't that good, think of how many psych albums aren't even close to that record and you'll see that is was more an idea for a song or two than a whole sub genre of Rock N' Roll (and I'm not saying it isn't a whole sub genre to this day).
The guy was dead on about Sgt. Pepper. That album blows.
The 69 tour had a brand new guitar player, so they played all the brand new songs. They had Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed songs that had never been on the road and that was enough for Taylor to learn. It's not like he had two years to get up to speed.
If you don't like Keith, fine. Don't come in and act like he didn't have anything to do with The Stones being what they are. His guitar sound is probably the second most recognizable thing about The Stones, right after Mick's voice.
