Because you are my peeps, and I want you to "cash in" at Las Vegas, I offer my extensively researched predictions for the quickly approaching 2015 NFL season. Understand that with unforeseen, injuries, and suspensions, predicting a season win/loss record with perfect dead eye accuracy for all 32 teams is virtually impossible. Therefore when we return to this thread after Super Bowl 50 in February 2016 to give your ol' pal, TM, a grade on these predictions, consider a +1/-1 allowance of error. (Ex. A 10-6 season record prediction would still be deemed accurate enough if the team went 9-7 or 11-5.)
So let's get started. All off season personnel changes through trades and the 2015 Draft are considered along with strength of schedule. A prediction for playoff teams and the Super Bowl is included.
AFC
North
Baltimore Ravens 11-5 The Ravens have a favorable schedule.
Pittsburgh Steelers 10-6 Brutal schedule but what an Offense!
Cincinnati Bengals 10-6 Bengals are solid but no real rest on this schedule either.
Cleveland Browns 5-11 Until the Offense gets much better they will flounder in this tough AFC Division. New unis this season though.
East
New England Patriots 12-4 Still the kings of this Division but the Bills have closed the distance between them.
Buffalo Bills 10-6 A playoff contender this season.
Miami Dolphins 8-8 They will get off to a fast start but run into a wall.
NY Jets 5-11 Revis helps but their QB sucks.
South
Indianapolis Colts 13-3 Colts are loaded on Offense this season. A team to watch.
Houston Texans 9-7 Great Defense but who is the Quarterback?
Jacksonville Jaquars 5-11 Some young talent which could make me look bad with this prediction.
Tennessee Titans 3-13 Too many holes to fill.
West
San Diego Chargers 11-5 Contract year for Rivers and a great rookie Running Back.
Denver Broncos 10-6 Can Manning stay healthy? The Broncos will run the ball far more this season.
Kansas City Chiefs 9-7 Solid but no real threat as a passing team.
Oakland Raiders 4-12 Getting better but the record will not reflect the improvement. Brutal from the beginning.
NFC
North
Green Bay Packers 12-4 Loaded for a Super Bowl run.
Detroit Lions 9-7 Tough schedule, but a talented team.
Minnesota Vikings 7-9 High expectations for the Vikes with APs return yet I don't see a winning season with this schedule.
Chicago Bears 7-9 Striving for mediocrity this season.
East
Dallas Cowboys 10-6 The Boys should win their Division but will not have the stellar running game of a year ago.
Philadelphia Eagles 10-6 Sam Bradford is the key. If he can stay healthy - watch out! Will have a fine running game and improved Defense.
NY Giants 8-8 The Defense looks bad but with OBJ snagging passes the O will be fun to watch.
Washington Redskins 5-11 I'm afraid it will be another brutal season to watch with my Redskins friends here locally.
South
New Orleans Saints 10-6 Revamping the O to be a run first attack and a better Defense should make the French Quarter happy.
Carolina Panthers 9-7 Good defense will keep them in every game. But the pass rush will not be as strong this season.
Atlanta Falcons 8-8 Offense will be fun to watch. The defense is the problem.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-11 They will win a shocker or two but are a year away from winning ways.
West
Seattle Seahawks 13-3 The team which has represented the NFC in the Super Bowl the last two years is still a powerhouse.
St. Louis Rams 9-7 A great Defense now has a respectable Offense to give them a rest.
Arizona Cardinals 8-8 Tough schedule is too much for them to make the playoffs.
San Francisco 49ers 6-10 Change can be good but with every other team in the Division solid at Head Coach the Niners are in for a long season. Had several players retire during the off season too.
Playoff Teams
AFC
Indianapolis Colts
New England Patriots
Baltimore Ravens
San Diego Chargers
Buffalo Bills
Pittsburgh Steelers
NFC
Seattle Seahawks
Green Bay Packers
Dallas Cowboys
New Orleans Saints
Philadelphia Eagles
St. Louis Rams Going out on a limb here but their head coach Jeff Fisher finally has enough talent on Offense to make a serious playoff bid. The Defense is one of the leagues best.
AFC Champions
Indianapolis Colts
NFC Champions
Green Bay Packers
Super Bowl 50 Champions
Green Bay Packers
So it is written. So it shall be. lol.
