Rock Poll: I went with Joe Perry. When he left the band, you got the feeling that they weren't the same.
They really weren't Aerosmith anymore after he and Whitford left. That was why I just ignored that 3 to 4 year period in the polling when they were away, as if it didn't happen.
Versus Poll: I went with Ringo. I'd like to see the poor guy win ONE poll that he is a part of!
You're forgetting, about 2 months ago, although it took place at the Beatles VS poll and not this one.... but Ringo won a poll question there when we asked for the best actor in the Beatles!
"Cry Baby Cry" in the Beatles poll. I always figured that ending to be a part of the song. It never occurred to me that anyone could consider it to be a different song.
That's because it was called a "untitled hidden track" in reviews written after the album was released, and it also wasn't recorded at the same time as "Cry Baby Cry", a song written by Lennon. "Can You Take Me Back", again, not it's title, was written by Paul back on the same day they recorded the song "I Will". Actually, "Can You Take Me Back" was a part of one of the many takes the band made (minus George) of "I Will", but it actually was a false ending to that song, but it then ended up as the false ending to "Cry Baby Cry" instead. I'm not sure if the Beatles themselves ever claimed if it was a true separate piece, or just a false ending added to Lennon's song.
