RE: The Who: Live At Leeds (NSC)

The original shorter edition featured select heavier songs from The Who' set list c. 1970. Given that approach, a top notch performance from the band, and excellent sound recording, the results assaulted the senses like no live album ever had. The deluxe v. 2 featured the entire concert including the stage performance of "Tommy". There were some softer moments in that edition so it tends to have a different impact. Both are great, but I would agree there's nothing like hearing the more concise original rocking album. The interplay between Townshend, Entwistle, and Moon is incredible and downright intense. As far as favorites, It's a tie between this one and "Ya-Ya's", which gave a first indication of what the Mick Taylor era band was all about.
