Brian needs an offical estate. Millions are owed.

I guess even more than even having the offical death verdict changed to murder, and the offical murderer named as Frank, Brian needs a different sort of justice.

This upcoming is hard for me to write. I love The original Rolling Stones as a band. Even a full decade after Brian died they were still very cool, after that eh, but 1962-1978 I do dig all their stuff. With that said I must say the following.

Since 1969 Andrew Oldham, Mick, Keith, Charlie, and Ian stole from Brian Jones something which you can't ever buy, his astounding legacy as a musician. Their lies about him not playing on sessions he played on, not showing up for shows he was at, not being able to write, and not being able to sing, well I'm sick of it.

It goes deeper, Abcko, and The Rolling Stones cooperation have been jointly stealing Brian Jones' money since 1969 unabashedly without anyone doing anything to stop them. Yet they still have the gall to bitch about the five pounds that Brian actually deserved for the extra work he was doing on their behalf. Mick and Keith especially by taking credit for his and other band mates songs have stolen millions from Brian Jones.

I wrote along these lines in the first post and it bears repeating, somebody needs to step up and starting suing for royalties and slander. Brian really needs his sister, his children, his grandchildren, all his family to come together and form some form of cooperation to protect his estate and legacy.

I've never seen anyone have less concern from his family than Brian Jones, in life or death. His children need to be recognized legally as his heirs and move forward from there. Brian's parents are no longer in the way, and his sister can't possibly be as hateful as they were.

For starters, Brian's royalties need to be addressed, as do his songwriting credits. Wyman, and Taylor should join the estate on the latter suit. Thanks to his band actually caring about him, Syd Barrett lived in great wealth the rest of his life despite not recording or performing one note past 1974. The man lived modestly, but cleared six to seven figures a year.

Brian Jones wrote less than Syd, but if his credits were added to The Last Time, Paint It Black, Ruby Tuesday, and it was assured that the Nanker Pheldge songs were being split proper, I can't imagine Brian not making the same. Maybe music sales are down, but we are talking about back royalties of fifty some years he is owed. Also performance payments alone should see Brian getting well over the figure quoted in the Trynka book of 20,000 pounds a year.

Next the estate should go after things like the current Rock and Roll Circus and get it immediately pulled. Both the spoken commentaries and the mixing out of his guitar give a very false impression of Brian Jones during that project. One that is irresponsible to his legacy.

Every book and review written since the offical Circus has come out in 1996 (WITH THE MAJOR EXCEPTION OF KENO's) doesn't take note that Brian has been mixed out. I would have it pulled from the market and force the mixes to be redone by Bill Wyman or someone else who can be trusted to put Brian back up in the mix.

Finally Keith Richards and Andrew Oldham should be sued over the libel and slander in their books. Their lies are so outrageous that it would be an easy win for Brian's estate. There should be the demand of the deletion of certain passages from future editions of these books or public apologies from the authors.

I'm not being a dick here, it's one thing to say Brian was an asshole, it's another to say he didn't form the band, didn't discover the blues direction of the band, didn't play music well, didn't matter to the image, didn't play on the records. Personal opinions don't matter, taking away his musical legacy does.

Yet nobody is helping Brian at all. Not with what he accomplished in life, not with what happened to him in death. Again I want to know why?
