Sorry to hear that you have to watch your mom slowly fade away in pain thanks to smoking. But that is what comes with the choice a smoker makes, and it isn't fair to the family members who have no choice in the matter.
I see nothing wrong with nonsmokers having their say in the matter, it costs us all in one way or a another, like in health care costs, and of course in having to watch a loved one go through that pain. Smokers take this kind of talk personally, but that's a part of having something controlling your life that most don't wish to be controlled by. My guess is that 98% of adult smokers wish they didn't smoke but can't stop. As far as teens and smoking goes, any teen who takes up smoking is a flat out a stupid kid with no brains. I look down on such kids, they think they look cool smoking, if they only knew what most adults think of them, including adults smokers. The sale of cigarettes should be banned to anybody under 21 years of age.
