RE: Memo both solo??

Why do I get the feeling that both Memo's are solo versions?

There were 3 or 4 versions made of the song, at least 3 for sure, and at least on one, recorded on Nov 17, 1968, was made with the Stones, that is a fact. Now it's possible none of that was used on the album, and since Klein was in charge of putting the Meta LP together, he could have just said that take was used when it wasn't, but I don't believe that. We will never know for sure, it's like them saying that all of Brian's guitar parts were taken off of HTW, yet when people who work in the studio talk about combining a lot of different sessions into one song, it can get to where all of the guitar parts are not removed as stated. An example would be Ronnie's guitar is still heard on IORR (yet it was noted that his guitar was removed), and we only know this becuse Ron is still alive and noted where his guitar is still heard. BJ of course couldn't do that on HTW.

OK so this is apparently all Stones...

The albums ins't all Stones, many of the tracks are not the Stones at all, and just Jagger.

....but only one track with Brian for sure

Why do you think this? I'm sure he's on more than one cut. If you go by Wikipedia, he's on at least 2 songs, but they don't list who's on every song. I think he's on at least 3 of them.

the mistitled "Lyle Street Lucy" is almost certainly from April 1969 not 1968

Then why do I hear Brian's voice on the cut? He wasn't around on the April '69 sessions, that's for sure. It was noted in the May '68 session that he played guitar on the song and sang backing vocals, and you can hear him singing a bit, at least you can hear somebody singing one part of the song using the very same "heavy" vocal that BJ used on "Walking the Dog", which wasn't his normal singing voice or anybody in the band's voice. I've only hear that voice on these 2 songs. I would say it had to be BJ voice on there.
