Why should they only be looked at as supporting players? Since when is the keyboardist in a band only a supporting player? In most bands keyboardists are full time members, and Chucks plays live as much as Keith and Ronnie plays. Plus the sax player is a main player in many rock bands too (including ones you dig). Why would it be that the E Street Band looked at Clarence Clemons as a full time member yet the Stones never looked at Bobby as one? Because of the CEO of the E Street Band (aka Springsteen) is a fair guy. The CEO of the Stones isn't. Yet I wound not be surprised if Keith would have been fine with Bobby in there officially, but if they let Bobby in, then they would have to let in Chuck and Darryl, too, and the CEO will have none of that! Too much money would be spread around and then less left over for him!
