I disagree. Bill and Brian SHOULD have been honored long ago...they weren't. I'm not suggesting they should recognize Bill NOW. That ship has sailed...they dropped the ball. They didn't have to wait for Brian to die. He died 3 weeks after he left at the age of 27. He was eulogized at Hyde Park, but they HAD to say something. The guy died 2 days before and Brian still had a huge fan base. It would have been suicide for the band if they went on stage and did nothing. Since then, nothing significant was done to honor the founder of the Rolling Stones. A shame.
I'm noy a Ronnie hater..don't get me wrong. As I said in a previous post..I just don't understand the Glimmers selective loyalty. I don't understand "honoring" a member of your band while he's still in it! Why not honor Bobby Keys? He's was with the Stones since 1970? Why not honor Daryl Jones? Been there since Bill left 22 years ago.
They didn't even think enough of Ronnie to make him a full fledged member of the band until 1993! Now he gets honored? This whole thing is not a big deal and I could care less...it's just very weird to me.
