RE: RE: RE: RE: Mick Taylor

As a Stones fan who only wants to see the absolute best in the Stones - even today, I hate to have to agree with NB and the other few fans that say what NB just said in his 2 replies here, but he and that vocal but small minority fans who agree with him, are totally correct. The Stones don't need MT today, and a great point made that they more than likely lose money in having to pay him verses any increase in tickets they might sell. They still play great today as a band without him. But, and this is a big but - he was the needed spark in the early '70s and he was their biggest reason why their greatest albums - were their greatest albums! The over majority of long time fans want him back in the band for good, and no question, he makes a still very good band, totally great, almost like they used to be in their heyday. The bottom line is, bringing him back on board would be done mainly to please the fans and nothing more, since the Glimmers have shown they don't care about anything more than the money they make and the fans clearly take a second seat to that. It's their band and they got to do it their way, and if they piss off some of their old-time fans (like they do more than any other band out there), that's their business and if they can live with that, again, it's their choice to make. Us long time fans will never stop being fans and they know it. Many of us will stop going to see them play live, and many of us have, but there are other new fans to replace us in those seats, so they just don't care, and that's the bottom line, like it or not. Us fans can bitch all we want to (and no, I'm not bitching here at all, I'm pointing out what is the truth about Jagger and his love for money and running things his way only), but it won't change anything at this point.

If the Stones actually do come to Colorado or northern New Mexico later this year with MT in tow, I will be there, one way or another. But if they show up without him, I will not spend anymore of my money on them. I've seen this lineup more than once and I don't wish to pay a high price to see it again; they are no where as good as they were with MT, and I'm entitled to that opinion. It's my choice to make if I go see them or not, just like it's their choice to make on using MT or not. But I also know that if I don't buy a ticket to a nearby show, somebody else will buy that ticket and it's no skin off of the backs of the Stones. So it's a waste of time to bitch about it, the Stones don't need to be a better band live today and that's their right to feel that way, along them wanting to still make as much money as they can, just like I and all of the other fans have a right to spend my (our) money on what I (we) want to spend it on, too. Plus - and most important, it's no crime at all for us to talk about this here either, Sway should't feel like he has to apologized to some here before he even makes a post, but I will agree that it's getting real old to talk about, too. The Stones aren't listening to us anymore on this MT thing and we need to get over it once and for all.
