Best Stones album cover/Misheard lyrics/Lennon

For week 828 of our Stones poll we will ask this question: : Of all of the Stones album covers that we rated a 10, which one has the best cover?

I’m sure you Gassers know me well enough to not be surprised by this week’s question. Whenever a long series of poll questions wraps up (like our album design question did last week after being asked on and off for the last few years), I like to ask a rap up question like the one that will be asked this week.

So yes, we will take the 14 album covers that we rated a ten, and will put them up against each other and see which one is liked the best. So which cover out of the 14 is your favorite? To make your pick and vote, just click on: Stones Weekly Poll.

In last week’s Stones poll we closed out rating the Stones album covers with this question: Rate the artwork for the front cover of Flashpoint. . Well no, Flashpoint was not one of the album covers that got a 10 rating, in fact, this cover saw one of the lowest ratings out of the 51 album covers that we rated, landing way down on the list in 47th place, with its top rating being only a “4”, with 24.4% of the vote.

To see the poll’s full final results, just click on this link: Stones Weekly Poll - week 827 . Or you can also see how this album's cover stacked up against the 51 other Stones album covers by viewing the entire, final standings at this page: Ratings for the Stones Album Covers . So yes, even though we are voting on a favorite album cover out of the top 14, the standings on this page will not change any, the order of where they landed will stay the same regardless of which album is picked from this week’s question, so Sticky Fingers will remain on top since it recorded the highest rating percentage wise, out of all the albums polled. But this week’s winner will also be noted on this page too, as soon as we have a winner come next Monday morning to list.

Now to this week’s Classic Rock Poll, where it’s week 470, and as usual, we will vote in 2 different polls for the week. In the first poll we have for the first time ever, a repeated Rock poll question (not counting tie breakers), since I messed up the last time I asked this question, so, here is it is again: Which rock song has the hardest to understand lyrics? This time all of the songs that should be listed, will be! Misheard lyrics are a big deal to rock music fans and my page set up for them at the Classic Rock Site is one of the busiest pages on my domain, as most people love to read stuff like this! So it’s important to have this poll conducted with all the songs that should be listed, which didn’t happen the last time I ran the question. I should also remind everybody that in regard to this question, it covers both lyrics that are hard or impossible to make out what is being sung, and also songs where you can make out the lyrics sung just fine, but they just don’t make any sense and you can’t understand the lyrics because of that.

To vote for the song you feel has the hardest to understand lyrics, just click: Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 1” to vote on this question.

In this week’s VS poll, we ask this: 'For You': Bruce Springsteen's original vs. Manfred Mann's Earth Band cover, which version is better?

"For You" is a song written and recorded by Bruce Springsteen in 1972 for his debut album Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., which was released in 1973. The lyrics are about a woman who attempted suicide. The song was covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band on their album Chance in 1980. This was the second Springsteen cover that they had a hit with, with the first one being “Blinded by the Light”.

So which song out of the 2 will you vote for? To cast your vote in this week’s VS poll, click on Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 2” to vote on this question.

In last week’s first Rock poll we asked: Who is/was the Best Female Guitar Player in Rock music? Wow, this one went right down to the last minute or so of voting before a winner was picked, as Bonnie Raitt and Nancy Wilson were neck and neck all week long in a battle for the top pick, and in the very end Bonnie Raitt came out on top by one single vote with a mere 9.9% of the vote.

To see where all of the other female guitarists from this poll ended up, click on: Classic Rock Poll 1, week 469. You can also check out the Top 10 list from this poll at Top Ten Lists, Page, 11.

In last week’s VS poll, we asked: 'I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone': The Monkees cover vs. The Sex Pistols cover, which cover is better? A major landslide win in this poll for one of these bands. To see which song was chosen by a big margin, just go here: Classic Rock VS Poll, week 469. You can also check out the final results at the VS results page 2, at the Classic Rock site, just click on: VS Page 2, List Page 10.

Over at our Beatles’ poll it’s week 223, and we ask yet one more Lennon guitar question, and it’s a very long question: John Lennon's acid lead guitar on the Beatles 'Revolution' vs Lennon's acoustic guitar on The Beatles 'Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)'. Which song is his guitar playing best on? These 2 songs have been voted on as the 2 top songs that John plays his guitar on (one for electric guitar, and the other for acoustic guitar), so now let’s find out on which one everybody feels he plays best on.

To vote this week’s Beatles poll, please use this link: Beatles Weekly Poll.

In last week’s Beatle poll we asked: What was John Lennon's most significant guitar parts after leaving the Beatles? 3 songs battled it out for first place all week, and in the end, their final top order was: “Cold Turkey” (co Lead on Acid Guitar) took first with 15.6%, second place went to “John Sinclair ”(Dobro Slide) at 15.4%, and in third was “Working Class Hero” (Acoustic) with 15.1%.

To see the full, final results from this poll, just click here: Beatle’s Weekly Poll – week 222. Or, you can check out the top 3 picks also at the John Lennon Poll Page, located at the domain’s Lennon Site.

Well, the first day of summer lived up to what it should do I guess, at least here where I live, as we just missed hitting the record high for today, which is 90 degrees (F), by one single degree. I’m sorry, but I flat out hate hot weather like this and hope we don’t see too many more days with it around 90 degrees this summer. Yuck! But the best thing as far as I’m concerned is that starting tomorrow, the days will start to become shorter, which in turn means less sun each day to make it too hot, and with each passing day we get closer to cooler and more sane temperatures.

I thank all of you who took the time to vote in the polls during the last week, and for voting again in this week’s new polls, too! Hope you all have a great upcoming week and do try to keep as cool as you can!
