Stones in Pittsburgh PART 1

Well yesterday was a great day in more ways than one...Got to reconnect with an old friend and his wife (their first time at a Stones show), got to tailgate with some new friends in an awesome location, and got to share a Stones show experience with my brother (14th show) and my Mom (4th show).

Met at my house, 2 people grabbed a shirt from my collection. We had 2 cocktails and it was off to the T (our subway/lite rail system). Where I live, it's the best way to get into the city-$5 roundtrip and it takes you right to Heinz Field.(Met a couple cool Shidoobies on the train, they missed their stop to their private party so I helped them find their way-I know Doug was in town this weekend).

I got invited to a nice tailgate party, so after we got off the T at the stadium, it was just a 2-block walk to the tailgate party. But the sky was getting dark and the first of the raindrops started. Moms not moving that good, so we had to stop and take several breaks, but she was a real trooper.

We got to the tailgate party as the thunderstorms let loose. The cool thing was the guy who was hosting the tailgate, owned the office building and the parking lot. So we had 3 tents set up in his parking lot. I thought when the heavy ran started falling, everyone would move the party inside. But you know what? no one did. We all just stayed outside and braved the elements...it was all very cool and a great bonding experience with cool people. My Mom found a nice chair and my brother and I took turns waiting on her. People loved her and she told many stories of my brother and I when we were kids, especially about her taking us to Pirate games. What a hit!! An old friend of mine made his way to the party-was actually there before me and made friends with everyone (and he didn't know any of them prior)-he's like that. Stayed there for several hours. and then around 8 made the trek to the stadium (I know the Stones were starting at 9:30 consistently, but something told me to get there early-which was a good thing, but they found a break in the weather and came on early-9:15).

Anyway what can i say? Like I told people at the tailgate...don't worry about the rain. Sure enough...right around 9 it quit raining and stayed dry for the entire show!
