First off, the ABKCO stuff is now under the same big Universal umbrella, so they can pretty much do anything now. That's why GRRR! has the stuff it does. ABKCO also did reissue the older catalog, and quite frankly, it may be the best done clean up of a back catalog ever. There are some mistakes, but the sound is pretty much as good as it gets. No bonus material, but what's there is really great.

The Sticky Fingers remaster is supposedly the same as the 2009 Universal remaster. I don't have that one so I can't really say if that's correct. I've heard people complain about it, but if this is it, I think that I can agree that it is definitely loud, but I don't hear anything objectionable. It's got more than decent bass and if someone didn't have it, I wouldn't hesitate to just tell them to get this. I don't have the vinyl, but outside of it missing the Midnight Rambler from the Roundhouse (deal breaker for me!), I hear it sounds excellent. So I may just go get it anyway!
