to 2000 Man on vinyl

I guess some of my intended humor was lost but I am shocked so many Gassers are so into digital. The Stones have a nice dirty sound that I don't like cleaned up.

Of course some vinyl pressings are shit, but I was talking about basic good records. A basic record next to a basic CD. Yes a SACD will sound better perhaps. but than so will a half speed mastered vinyl or a Japanese pressing. There's a lot of factors. I was just trying to give the digital age myths "the man" was passing off back in 1986 that I was reading again here a good kick in the balls. The humor again was slightly lost. I meant it, but it was in fun. I was trying to tell the turntable owners that for Jah's sake plug in your deck!

I'm sure someone makes a remote turntable, they make so many different ones now. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive I've seen them in catalogs sometime in recent years. Regardless they do some great stuff with turntables these days. Check out acousticsounds.com for some great records and tables.

As far as sitting next to the table I was again being slightly sarcastic. I just was trying to point out it's easy enough to skip a song.

Their are a few new suitcase decks that sound really good for what they are. I wouldn't play anything super valuable on them, but an old VG- record with some pops can sound amazingly powerful what it is. I don't mean you should drag it around playing it, just set it up on a table or something if you want to hear your older more beat up records in a room where your main stereo isn't. Or if you want to bring some to some horrible mp3 only house where you gotta stay for a while it's a great thing to have.

No people can listen how they want, and they can watch Bigger Bang DVDs instead of Brian Jones footage too. I'm allowed to say one is better. Hell I've even got Mick's solo stuff...on vinyl.

In other words I'm just a loud mouth with an opinion, but man it's depressing to see downloads and phones and little tinny and tiny speakers looked at with such awe, when I bust my hump since 1989 to keep records alive. I finally see them come back over the last 5 years with record store day and all, seeing them back in chain stores, getting them even in malls, and people in here act like it's not happening. I thought you all were hipper than that. Just a bit frustrated at it.

Honestly though whatever floats anyone's boat, but I really do feel like I don't belong so much as I thought I would.
