RE: AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO LOVES THE VINYL SOUND?

Plenty of us listen to vinyl. But if you think every vinyl record sounds better than every cd, then you're just wrong. Some records sound better, some worse. Some exactly the same. Different pressings of records can sound different.

Plenty of people aren't interested in the work that goes into vinyl. No one makes a remote control turntable anymore, and sitting next to the turntable in most setups is a long way from enjoying the sweet spot where the sound benefits can actually be heard.

Your portability theory is wrong, too. No one makes a suitcase style deck I'd put one of my records on, and records don't do well when you drag them around anyway.

You wont find a bigger proponent of vinyl around here than me, but telling everyone they're listening to music wrong because they aren't doing it the same way as you is absurd. Some people have physical limitations that make vinyl very difficult, and being able to tell their phone what to stream next is a godsend that makes listening to music a pleasure again. Some people think digital sounds better, and they're not wrong.

Some of us decided that Leeds was a necessity and bought the Super Deluxe Sticky Fingers. Some of us didn't. Some people bought the Target release to get a free single lp version of Sticky Fingers. I passed on the vinyl because it doesn't have the best song of the entire Roundhouse show on it. All the Stones' recent remasters (Some Girls, Exile and now Sticky) get the vinyl completely wrong. That's why I don't buy them, because I think they did them wrong. If you like them though, I'm not going to say you're wrong.
