RE: RE: loss of vinyl

I will never forget the day way back in 1986 when my home was broken into and along with a lot of other things stolen, my entire vinyl record collection was taken. I had a very large collection which included rare, hard to get albums. I felt like one of my kids were killed when this happened. When the police asked me how much my record collection was worth, I could only tell them it was priceless. I lost a bunch of stuff that day, but noting bugged me as much as losing my record collection. Since CDs were the new thing at that time, I never really replaced any of the records I had on vinyl, and today, I got maybe 40 records on vinyl. My old turntable has been played by me 2 times in the last 13 years that I lived in this house. The last time was when I got the EOMS box set and I played side one of that LP. I realized that day that something was wrong with the turntable, looked like it's belt was about to die, so I only played side one and haven't turned on the turntable since. There is only one Stones album that I don't have on CD and only have on vinyl, that's DW. Back in '05 when I re-reviewed all of my Stones LPs on the site, I played the vinyl copy of that LP, and if I ever again decide to do yet another review of DW, well I'm not sure if the turntable will still play or not. That would be the only reason for me to try playing that thing again, and after 10 years I would like to once again re-review the Stones LPs, but DW would be the last one I would get to, since it's the one Stones album I have no interest in playing again. But I always loved the sound of CDs over vinyl anyway, so I got no need to buy any more vinyl records, or play my turnetable again, unless I do write another review of that album, as I'm sure not gonna waste a dime on buying a CD of DW, that's for sure!
