The name Three Dog Night is a term Austrailians use to describe how cold it is.
Only there? We've been using it here in the US for years, at least in very cold US locations (perhaps in warmer locations it isn't used?), and other places around the world use it too. So it ins't exclusive to being said in Australia only. It is believed it's origin is from the Australian outback, yes, but it is used in many other places. Heck, we use to a lot in Colorado!
