I''m very familiar with Lampinski and his work. Great that his work is shared after all those years. Mike Millard is probably the west coast Taper you're thinking of. Mike the mic also had great equipment that he used to sneak in using a wheel chair. His stuff was probably the most bootlegged, having been pressed on vinyl ect. He made the recordings from the L.A. Forum 1975 stones tour that became so wide spread. Sad, Mike committed suicide. Another taper of that era goes by the moniker of Freezer. He was/ is New Orleans based. He recorded the "Whores in the Night" show mentioned in the thread below. His stuff also made it to vinyl and pretty much made him a hoarder. He got a bad rap in the trading community as a result. Though, I got to say he's been good to me. You also might want to keep an ear out for Joe Maloney recordings. Boston area taper who landed some gems. One of those east coast guys also spent time in Seattle.
Yes, Allman Bros. (I miss them already!) and Grateful Dead allowed taping so there is indeed a eploripha of recordings available. Though ABB won't allow their stuff to be torrented.There is a website BTAT.com you might wanna check out.
