Cool article, thanks for the link, but so what if the bit about Duane Allman was true or not. I had head this before and more than likely it's true, but no big deal, Mick was just making up lyrics as he went along, which is common with many songwriters until they get their final lyrics together. Was he talking about Duane there, who knows, but Duane did have a connection to Muscle Shoals and the Swampers (aka The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section), no question about it, and most knew about it even back in '69. I always loved the LS song lyric about them: "Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers, and they've been known to pick a song or two (yes they do!)....."
