Sorry to clog up the board, but I can't resist sharing this article as well:

The whole thing is interesting, but the last few paragraphs definitely reflect my own propensity to "go down a musical rabbit-hole" on any given night, which I sometimes do by starting with one song on youtube and then following it to wherever my mood, and feelings, and memories, and associations---and whatever else---take me.
