After some investigation....it turns out that the Stones DID play HOS live in 1966!
Where did you find this? I'd be curious to see the source. I checked Bill's coffee table book, "Rolling With The Stones", in which he gives the setlists for the various tours. I didn't see HOS. But maybe I missed it, or maybe Bill did.
Concerts in those days were much shorter than they are today. The Stones shared the bill with several other bands and played for about 30 minutes, give or take a couple of minutes. The band played material from their albums and don't seem to have played anything else.
Still, they could have done HOS one time, exceptionally. After all, they did do "Hey Crawdaddy" once, in Paris in April 1967. But that song had a connection to them from their days of playing at the Crawdaddy club. I can't see a connection between the Stones and HOS.
That's why I'm curious as to where you found this information, Sway.
