I don't think being a conservative makes one a dick, but Nugent sure is.
My guess is, even if 90% of the current GOP is conservative (which wasn't the case even 25 years ago), most of the republican rockers are not. I'm going by what I have heard from them, they all sound like the now rare, liberal republicans of years past. The exceptions on my list, Nugent of course, the late Johnny Ramone was very conservative from what I've read about him, and Mike Love is.
I also just remembered another 2 rockers to add to the Republican family list; Charlie Daniels, who today sounds like a redneck, it's hard to believe he made some of those cool songs years ago, which he refuses to sing today, back when he clearly wasn't a republican. Plus Billy Gibbons I believe is one. Funny, as I type this out, I'm recalling that John Bon Jovi support that asshole, super rude clown from New Jersey for governor a few years back, but I don't know if he is a Republican or not.
