Back when I was in my early teens, I used to love mowing the lawn too, heck, doing that for others was one of my first jobs as a kid (that and being a paper boy). But I never did it sitting down, takes away all of the excise that way! Nowadays, we have no lawns in this town, the ground here is just growing what grows naturally for this area, lots of wild grass that you don't ever cut, and rabbit brush, small cactus, stuff like that. I and most of the others here seem to like the natural look better over a green lawn, plus there's nothing to take care of, or water, it all takes care of itself.
We had a big hail storm here today that covered the ground, (small hail is normal for this part of Colorado, it's the hail capitol of the entire world, but we almost never see the big hail storms that destroys stuff like they get in the Midwest). That in turn made my plans to clean up dead tree branches after last week's snowstorm not possible. So I ended up staying inside most of the day baking for the family and working the phone looking for new homeowner insurance. What a headache looking for insurance is for around here; half the insurance companies will not cover houses in this area because of wildfires (yet our town hasn't had one in it's 160 year history!), that, and because we sit directly under the state's most active earthquake fault, yet there haven't been any major earthquakes here in a few thousand years, only real minor ones, and as long as we don't allow fracking around here, we shouldn't see any in our lifetime. Yet most places won't touch our area. Pigs! They should all be kicked out of our state if they won't serve all of the people!
