It just seems too easy to get bored with jazz. But if there were nothing else...maybe I could give it time; the kind of time that was given to it--when there was nothing else ha ha!
Is there any new, groundbreaking, and awesome cool jazz being created these days? I mean, really? Maybe it has limits on how far it can go.
It might not be appropriate, but I'll compare it to the Grateful Dead: The Dead can be really cool when things have congealed into riffs, and beats, and melodys, but in between, when they noodle around too much it is sooo easy to lose track of the song and where it is going. This happens whether one is high or not. To me, jazz has maybe 5% of the necessary rhythms and melodies required to keep things interesting.
