RE: RE: Mick Taylor== I have to vent

Mick Taylor played, and plays, lead and harmony as one, which makes him really stand out to me, and which made him compliment Keith probably better than Ronnie and even Brian. Is is absolutely unique? I don't know, but while many think that his soloing skills put him in the "lead guitarist" category with the likes of Clapton and Hendrix, I think the best weaving Keith ever did live was with him. He was a hell of a counterpoint. As TM notes, he was ALWAYS playing something...noodling away, searching for harmonies and layers throughout the song, never taking breaks or simply waiting for his turn to solo. Some great examples of this are the harmonies he injected into Happy and Rocks Off circa '72-'73 and Jumpin Jack Flash at the end of the '72 tour. Lead and counterpoint as one!
