To highlight one of Keno's points - Ronnie may want to play different instruments and even encourage that. I believe that is evident in the SG sessions. Ronnie plays a mean pedal steel and wish he would've done so over the years. If MJ or anyone squashed the exploration of their sound, then shame on them. If Ronnie has attempted to expand some horizons then good for him. I suppose he hasn't had many chances to do so.
Even though it maybe none of my business, I hope we find out the real reason why MT isn't on this tour. It's a shame he isn't and just a while ago when getting out of my truck, '100 Years Ago' came on. What a great song and great work by MT. They've shown over the years they can expand their sound a bit: the funk of GHS and B&B, punkish type and country stylings on SG, back to basics a bit on VL. Why not back to blues on a new studio album with MT and BW (like stated above)? Instead we've been treated to a couple of new GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR songs and studio outtakes for the past 10 years.... 10 F'N YEARS! Since '89, we've had four studio albums. Even my Louisiana math says that's 26 years.
