This opinion has been expressed by a few Gassers and I must, respectfully, disagree with it.

When I listen to some of the great early 70s soundboards, my favourite songs are always GS, LIV and MR (depending on which ones were played during the show I'm listening to.) And it's always for the same reason: MT's superb guitar work.

As the true artist that he is, he can enhance any song, whether or not he had a hand in creating it in the studio. Heck, I'm sure he could even turn "Happy Birthday" into one heck of a rocker, and add a great solo in the middle...
