lol. I spent time with a lovely and sexy Deadhead in Michigan back in about 2002, (she had followed the band for an entire tour a few years earlier.) and she gave me the best advice about enjoying the music of the Dead - "Focus on Jerry's guitar. You will hear amazing notes." He WAS an amazing guitar player. Jerry is essentially the show. There is more to it than just Jerry's guitar, but that is certainly the main attraction. I have also noticed their music is rather non confrontational, and never feels threatening. Normally there is this peaceful pace and groove. No songs like 'Rip This Joint', for example, tearing up your senses. Deadheads relax to the Deads music. It's a cool safe place to be. Perfect for tripping and other drugs, or just relaxing. That relaxed style of music making appeals to Dead Heads, whereas others can find it a bit boring. I used to find it boring years ago but I actually enjoy much of their music now. Good thing since my buddy Greg is either listening to Bob Dylan or The Dead 80% of the time when I visit him.
