That first book sounds very much how the Buddhists talk about a afterlife. It's funny how all of these good Buddhist people remember all of these past lives, yet most non-Buddhists don't. Then I love how the Hindus look at afterlife, no guarantee you will come back as a human, you may come back as a rat, or bug, or any other kind of animal. I could understand that more than we will for sure come back as humans.
You noted Shirley Maclaine, she loves this kind of talk, and loves where I live, and she owns land here.
I cannot forget all the accounts of people who had NDEs claiming they left their physical bodies and rose, then looked down to watch hospital workers working on their body with their vital signs gone, and then rose even higher into space above the earth, and some people (souls) rose even further into outer space towards "the light".
I believe most of them are telling the truth, but what is happening is they were hallucinating, this happens to many just before they die.
