University of Rochester offers a lecture series " Music of The Rolling Stones 1962-1974". Check it out at coursera.org. The course is almost over (final exam is next week), but the video lectures and quizzes available until late April. Presented by a very accomplished musicologist/university professor. Very basic and elementary, but very interesting. Some lively forum discussions. I started the course late so I'm playing catch up. I'm up to discussions of The Big Four albums and should complete the course and take the final exam next week. Sadly for copyright reasons, Professor Kovach does not play any music or quote lyrics so you have to listen to the cuts on your own (what a burden!). The guy knows his stuff! Check it out - and it's free.
