RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Theology.... (NSC)

I studied Theology in detail in the late '80s, shortly after I read the Quran and was blown away by how insanely violent it was (well, is), and how people actually believed it as being god's word, or how a cool person like Cat Stevens could say it was a beautiful book to read. Among other things, I learned that there are different versions of the Quran, the one the Cat read doesn't contain all of the commands telling their followers to kill Christians, Jews and Atheists, but the official one, the one that the jihadists read, does, and that's the one with Mohammad in it. Anyway, it got me going to read up on that stuff, even re-reading the bible, which I was forced to read in Sunday school as a boy (and turned me into a nonbeliever by the time I was about 11 or so). I had swore I would never let me eyes see that book again, since I hated it as a kid, but I read it again as an adult and found it more interesting this time around; nothing I could ever believe in, but interesting, as all religions interest me a bit, other than maybe Islam, which flat out scares me. It is the sickest religion out there (of the major religions, the only really sick one, IMO), none of the other ones come close. But I don't believe in any of them other than Buddhism, but only to a point, as even some of Buddhism I can't accept either, and Buddhists will tell you that Buddhism isn't really a religion anyway, it's a way of life, but not a religion. Deep down I think it's both, for sure it's a way of life and improving your life and living in peace, but one thing for sure, there is no God to worship in Buddhism, only yourself, and that's pretty cool, indeed. Yet I think of one of the 2 Zen masters I know well here where I live (a town where Buddhism is the main religion). He was one who noted to me a good 10 plus years ago that Buddhist were mainly Atheists (yet you can be a Buddhist and also be a Jew or Christian), but the way he bows to his many statues at his Zen center reminded me of the Catholic priests and how they would bow to their statutes of Jesus in their church's (although a true Zen center is 10 times more interesting to visit than a Christian church). But if there are no gods, why the need to bow?
