In the US, a "Christian name" is known as the same as a "Baptismal name", which is a personal name given to a person or baby on the occasion of their Christian baptism, although in the Catholic religion, this name is also known as the name given when the child is confirmed (the sacrament called "Confirmation") in their early teens. But then again, yes, I guess it could be used as the first name here, too. But since I'm not a Christian, I don't consider myself to have a Christian name, even if I was baptized as a baby. I had no choice in that event and don't believe that babies are born with some kind of stupid sin that some priest can wash away with holy water! But it still makes no scene to me that a Jewish person who only believes in the old testament, can believe in Jesus, too. How does a Jew believe in the new testament and still call himself a "Jew"?
