No vote in the Stones poll. IMO these are two sub-par albums overall, with a couple of good songs on each.
The title cut from this LP was a disco song that some fans, along with Keith Richards, hated; in fact Keith barely played on the song. But MJ loved it
I gotta say I'm with Keith here. I never cared much for the Disco Stones. "Miss You" is probably the best of that bunch, with "Hot Stuff" second and ER third. Again, IMHO.
with this album, Mick was pretty much taking over control of the band, with Keith now playing second fiddle to him, and that would be the way things would stay in the band to this very day.
Keith only has himself to blame for that. Although I have to wonder if that wouldn't have happened anyway. With his LSE training (did he graduate? I'm not sure on this) and business acumen, Mick will always be the better business person, with a well thought-out game plan of where he wants the band to go. I don't think that Keith could have competed with that, even without all the hard drugs getting in the way.
This week again, there are simply too many great songs in the first rock poll to make it an easy pick. I have eliminated the non-contenders but now I still have to pick among several worthy choices.

In the Beatles poll, I just couldn't resist picking the semolina, the penguin, the Eiffel tower and Edgar Allen Poe. I just can't get enough of those great, irreverent Lennon lyrics. Who else could have come up with this stuff?
