Hopkins was also featured heavily on the Who's first 1965 album, "My Generation". He got a co-writer's credit along with Townshend-Moon-Entwistle on "The Ox", a recording that sounds like surf music on steroids. In the early 70's he was briefly a member of Quicksilver for the "Shady Grove" LP. His "Edward the Mad Shirt Grinder" from that album is an piano tour-de-force.
