I don't believe Mick gets enough credit for his solo work. Granted, he's had some real laughers, but overall I would say it's good. Wandering Spirit was, by far, the best solo record he made. I don't think it's as great as some people do (some call it a "Stones record he made by himself." I don't think it is), but it's very good. Once you get past the goofy title, Goddess in the Doorway is OK. I like GGME w Lenny Kravitz, and Don't Call me Up is good. Same with Too Far Gone. Visions of Paradise is poppy, for sure, and I could do without the Matchbox 20 guy, but for what it is, it's not a bad tune.
I can't remember much of She's the Boss, although I think "Throwaway' was on there. That was a good tune.
Like I said, he's had some stinkers, but there's some good stuff in there too, you just have to look. He gets a lot of crap for Goddess in the Doorway but overall, I don't think it's that much different than A Bigger Bang. The stinkers are real stinkers (Gun, Look what the Cat Dragged in). Decent songs (GGME, Infamy).
