I love "ModBob", "Cowboy-bluesy Bob", Crooner Bob most. Yes his 60's stuff is iconic, Freewheelin, Times- Changin Album, Bringing it all Back Home, Highway61 Revisited, Blonde On Blonde, John Wesley Harding (masterpieces imo), but I listen to most of those songs Live - Never Ending Tour style - renditions. Studio albums I listen most too are the ModBob: OhMercy, Time Out Of Mind, Love & Theft, Modern Times, Together Through Life, Tell Tale Signs, Tempest, Shadows Of The Night. Overall he is my absolute favorite. His 70's work is real good too. Blood On The Tracks, Desire being the best but Planet Waves, New Morning, Stret Legal are solid too. Nashville Skyline from 60's is solid too (Dylan in his best voice). His 3 gospel studio albums are interesting but the born again phase lyrics and such are a big turn off for many which I understand, (how he betrayed the Leftists lol, most dismissed and havn't forgiven him since). Infidels is ok, but 3 of the outakes left off the album would have made it a top notch Dylan record (Add Blind Wille McTell, Foot Of Pride, Lord Protect My Child) in place of Union Sundown & Neighborhood Bully it'd be an A record- oh well . His nadir was the mid 80's Down in The Groove & Knocked Out & Loaded ugh Empire Burlesque has good songs but terrible production 80's synths, drum machines etc & that helium voice period live (mid 80's) yuck too. His live shows, as witnessed by Keno are divine, to atrocious, depending on the mercurial ones mood I suppose. Surely the "Picasso of Song" at any rate. If he'd of had an American Idol type voice or even a mainstream voice, his popularity would of surely been unparrelled by the masses. An odd genius for sure I suppose. His 2 early 90's cover records are good too World Gone Wrong & Good As I Been To You. 1990 Album Under The Red Sky was below average to poor. Official Live I listen To Hard Rain & MTV Unplugged quite often. MEZ
