I can only think when seeing the six feet of snow on TV in greater Boston - what a waste of something so beautiful! The over whelming numbers of people back east hate snow, rarely play in it and don't ever enjoy it, have nowhere to put it, and on top of that, they don't really need it for their drinking water. Here in Colorado, most people love the snow, it's our only source for our drinking water (year round, mind you), and we get out and ski and hike in it whatever we can. Now I know that east coast snow is a lot wetter and heavier, which isn't the kind of snow we like here in the Rockies, or the kind we ever get, other than in the springtime - and except this winter, since it's been so damn warm, the snow's been like east coast snow all year round, wet and heavy, or what they call in California, "Sierra cement", it's bad snow to ski on, and only great from making snowmen or snowballs. But most of the people in Colorado love the dry snow we see and don't look at it as an evil thing at all. Other than driving in it, which like everywhere else, nobody here likes that. Today (Tuesday) it hit 50 for the fourth day in a row, but for Wednesday a snowstorm will hit. We haven't see any snow at all this month, but it's just starting to snow here now (just after 1 am) and we should see several inches overnight. So of course I have to drive Jackie 45 miles away from here in the morning for a doctor's appointment, leaving at 745 am, and I got to be back here for work starting at 11 am. Normally that shouldn't be a problem, we should be back by 1030 am, but if it does snow, the trip could take double the time to get back, so I'm not looking forward to that at all. Figures, it's been like spring for almost 2 weeks now, and tomorrow when I have to drive almost 100 miles round-trip in just a 3 hour window, it's gonna snow hard! Bad luck indeed, maybe the forecast will be wrong, but as the local weatherman, that makes me look bad, so I'll lose out tomorrow either way, but I rather be wrong with the forecast, as I do hate driving in snow very much.
